Bared by Stacey Kennedy

Author: Stacey Kennedy
Series: Club Sin
Release Date: 2/10/14

In a novel that’s perfect for fans of Fifty Shades of Grey, Stacey Kennedy returns to Club Sin with another wicked and wild tale of submission, seduction, and love.

At Las Vegas’s exclusive Club Sin, Aidan Knight is the Master, unleashing the erotic yearnings of his submissive lovers. But his dominant façade conceals a devastating loss—something he instantly recognizes in his personally trained submissive Cora Adams. Sworn to unearth her secrets, Aidan uses his seductive skills to ignite her wildest desires until Cora yields to the pleasure she can find only with him.

Cora came to the BDSM club to act out her sub-and-dom fantasies without ever revealing the heartbreak that haunts her. But Aidan’s masterful touch is bringing her closer to the edge . . . and deeper into a world of control and surrender. He refuses to allow her to submit to any other man—nor does she want to. It’s a dangerous game they’re playing. For as they give in to passion, they must lay bare their souls for a love that could heal—and free—them both.

My Review:

WOW! What a emotional story! I can't even begin to explain how much I love this book and series!

Cora and Aidan have had a great D/s relationship for the last 2 years. Unfortunately, she has realized that she needs more but doesn't want to push Aidan away by demanding it. Her hurt really affected me and broke my heart throughout the story. Aidan lost his first love/sub in a tragic accident and doesn't realize that Cora helped bring him back from his grief. He tried to demand Cora to share why she is so upset, but it backfires and pushes her away. He has no clue that she is in love with him and has been for the last two years.

Both characters are so emotionally raw and damaged, yet they are so good for each other. I wanted to strangle Aidan for not seeing how good and in love Cora was with him! Cora's pain is so evident that it really shows throughout the story.

My Rating: 4 stars

Torn From You/With You by Nashoda Rose

Author: Nashoda Rose
Series: Tear Asunder

About Torn From You:

Love is like an avalanche. It hits hard, fast and without mercy.

At least it did for me when Sculpt, the lead singer of the rock band Tear Asunder knocked me off my feet. Literally, because he’s also a fighter, illegally of course, and he taught me how to fight. He also taught me how to love and I fell hard for him. I mean the guy could do sweet, when he wasn't doing bossy, and I like sweet.

Then it all shattered.

Kidnapped.
Starved.
Beaten.
I was alone and fighting to survive.
When I heard Sculpt's voice, I thought he was there to save me.

I was wrong.

(It is highly recommended to read "With You" the novella first).

*Warning: This book contains some disturbing situations, strong language and sexual content. Over 18 years.

My thoughts:

First of all, this is a VERY dark romance. If you have have issues with reading about abuse against women, disturbing situations, and sexual abuse, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK!

Normally, this is not the type of book I want to read. But, this author weaves a story so intriguing and heartbreaking that I could not put it down! I laughed, I cried, I yelled at the book....at some points I wanted to throw my Kindle across the room! It really is such a disturbing tale, but I loved it anyway. It caused me to feel so many emotions while reading and isn't that what a good book should do? While the story itself disturbed me, the book just sucked me in and kept my attention from beginning to end. I won't summarize the story because that would give too much away, but I wanted to hate Logan/Sculpt. I honestly did not want Emily with him after all that happened. But, this author made my heart break for him and I thought of him as much as a victim as Emily. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes damaged characters and a roller coaster story.

***In order to fully understand this story, read the short story With You BEFORE reading Torn From You.

Remember When 3: The Finale by T. Torrest

Author: T. Torrest
Series: Remember Trilogy

About the book:

I’ve been in love with Trip Wiley since I was sixteen years old.
Yep. That Trip Wiley.
Academy award-winning actor, known philanthropist, People’s Sexiest Man Alive two years running…
Yeah.
It’s not like I’m some delusional stalker-fan. It just so happens that he was my high school sweetheart back in 1991.
In the years since, he’s simply been The One That Got Away.
We just can’t seem to get on the same page at the same time.
Our timing may have sucked, but the feelings had already been confirmed. Years ago.
At least his were.
He doesn’t know that I had chosen to love him back.
I need to fix that.
And I need to do it now.

Remember When 3 is the third and final book in the Remember Trilogy.
It’s a story about taking chances and following your heart…
and knowing that sometimes, you just have to learn when to let go.

My Review:

The third and final book of the series and I have to say...this one was the BEST YET! Now in their 30's, Trip comes home to bury his father. The first person he calls is Layla and of course she drops everything to help console him. Realizing that the last 4-5 years have been a BIG misunderstanding, they reconnect and proclaim their love for one another.

I laughed. I got mad. I wanted to smack people up-side the head. But through it all, I never wanted to put this book down until Layla and Trip got what they deserve....each other.

Remember When - Book 2 by T. Torrest

Book 2
Author: T. Torrest
Series: Remember Trilogy

About the book:

You know how sometimes, your high school crush grows up to be an insanely famous movie star? Okay, probably not. But I do. ~Layla Warren

Back in high school, Trip Wiley’s fanbase only encompassed the denizens of the nothing little suburb of Norman, New Jersey.

Ten years later, all that is about to change.

In the summer of 2000, Layla Warren is enjoying her career as a journalist in New York City (well, sort of), while Trip spends most of his time grabbing Hollywood by the balls. In the days before what will turn out to be his skyrocketing fame, they’ll find themselves confronted with some life-altering choices.

Remember When 2 is the second story in an NA romance trilogy. It will bring you back to that exuberant and riotous time of life in your twenties when you struggled to figure out your place in the world and the person you were meant to be…

…and the person you were meant to be with.

My Review:

Book 2 picks up ten years after the first one and a LOT has happened to Layla and Trip. Layla now works as a copywriter for a newspaper insert magazine and Trip is becoming a big Hollywood star. He's in town, shooting a movie, and Layla pitches the idea of interviewing her high school "friend" for a story. Only problem is that her boss is also her secret fiance and he tries to give the story to a regular reporter. Layla gets the go ahead and sets up a one on one interview in Trip's family hotel.

Trip walks into the hotel room and that's when things change. There is the girl he has always loved. Problem is, she is engaged to someone else. Can Trip convince Layla that they are meant to be together even after all these year? Who will Layla choose?

This book lagged a little for me in the middle. I LOVE the idea of seeing the relationship from the POV of their 20's and all the added roadblocks that entails.

**Warning - this one ends with a HUGE cliffhanger! Be warned that you are going to be angry, confused, upset, and will want to read the final book right away

Remember When Trilogy by T. Torrest - Book 1

Remember When Trilogy
Author: T. Torrest
Series: Remember Trilogy
B&N

About the books:

Years before Trip Wiley could be seen on movie screens all over the world, he could be seen sitting in the desk behind me in my high school English class.

This was back in 1990, and I cite the year only to avoid dumbfounding you when references to big hair or stretch pants are mentioned. Although, come to think of it, I am from New Jersey, which may serve as explanation enough. We were teenagers then, way back in a time before anyone could even dream he’d turn into the Hollywood commodity that he is today.

In case you live under a rock and don't know who Trip Wiley is, just know that these days, he’s the actor found at the top of every casting director’s wish list. He’s incredibly talented and insanely gorgeous, the combination of which has made him very rich, very famous and very desirable.

And not just to casting directors, either.

I can’t confirm any of the gossip from his early years out in Tinseltown, but based on what I knew of his life before he was famous, I can tell you that the idea of Girls-Throwing-Themselves-At-Trip is not a new concept.

I should know. I was one of them.

And my life hasn’t been the same since.

My Review:

This the first book in a trilogy and it takes place during the high school years. Trip and Layla meet during their senior year of high school. Trip is a new student and Layla is your typical New Jersey teen. Did I mention it takes place in the 90's? Layla is instantly attracted to the new guy but thinks he is so far out of her league. It doesn't help that he shows up at the first party of the year with a slut who graduated the year before.

The author takes us through the tough year of leaving childhood behind and graduating and becoming and "adult". The 90's jokes and banter had me laughing each time! If you are looking for a good laugh and something mild, this book fits the bill!

Stay tuned tomorrow and Friday for my review of books 2 & 3
